From The Book of Graywalker

Fellow patriots of the United States of America, I will stand with you to defend the ideals of the United States of America if you can agree to these self evident truths – in no particular order.

1. The United States of America was founded to be a secular government in which all citizens are free to believe and openly practice their own religion, or none at all, so long as their activities do not infringe on the rights of others to do the same.

2. That government should be of Laws, rather than of Men (to borrow from the Jaycee Creed). Meaning, no cult of personality should be allowed to take over and demolish our shared government to benefit one class or group of people and their rigid ideology. Left, Right or Middle.

3. All mankind are created Equal, and have the same rights under our constitution no matter their race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, identity, citizenship or political affiliation.

4. Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people have always existed, will always exist, and they do have every right to do so free of oppression by the government.

5. The social contract of tolerance should be extended and observed by all, however, those who refuse to observe and adhere to basic tolerance are no longer covered by the contract, and thus, shall not be tolerated.

6. Facts and Truth Matter.

Core Beliefs and Principals

The following are beliefs and ideals that are somewhat up for debate and negotiation.

1. Extreme wealth inequality and Income inequality is harmful to the economy of the country. There is only ever 100% of wealth and the more percentage that is hoarded into a small percentage of the population, the worse things are for everyone else.

2. Educating our young people benefits our entire country, so all young people should be educated equally from kindergarten through high school, with options for academic, skilled trades and social work equally promoted so that kids can work with their strengths without social stigma. Included in this, is making sure that all students have the tools needed to be educated – combat hunger by providing breakfast and lunch to all students who want it, combat bullying at school, even by teachers and staff, even providing basic clothing, if the need is evident.

3. Health Care is a human right. This doesn’t mean forcing doctors to work for nothing. It means that everyone should have access to affordable health care. Health Insurance is a scam, it is very expensive and there are lots of examples of how to provide care for everyone without making pencil pushing executives rich off the backs of sick and injured people. The whole concept of Health Care for Profit is obscene. Mental health is an integral part of Health Care, as is dentistry and eye care.

4. Crime is driven by desperation and making laws that more harshly punish violations have done nothing to curb crime. We should instead focus on eliminating the motivations behind crime – tackling Education, Health Care and Income inequality would go a long way toward that goal. However, there may be other things to take into consideration, such as affordable and safe housing, poverty, hunger, etc.

5. Voting in our country is outdated and easily manipulated by those in power, so that they can remain in power. Our system needs to be modernized and freed from the influence of big money and lobbying. Ranked Choice Voting and a Secure online voting system should be developed, with safeguards and checks in place.

6. Truth is not subjective. Sure, from one side it looks like a 9, from the other side, it looks like a 6 – but someone wrote it and they know what it was meant to be. If I wrote a 9, you may think it looks like a 6, but that is because you are standing in the wrong location.

7. Wealth does not make anyone a hard worker, it does not make them smart, it does not make them honest. Working hard makes you a hard worker. Doing and saying smart things, the ability to figure out the correct solution to complex problems, makes you smart. Telling the truth and doing the right thing, even if inconvenient, even if nobody is watching, makes you honest.

8. The climate is changing for the worse and humans are contributing to that change, therefore, it is up to us to try to fight the worst of the changes.

9. Guns don’t kill people in the same way a hammer doesn’t put a nail in wood. Taking away everyone’s guns is not the way to decrease the levels of gun violence, but making some common sense gun laws, supported by responsible gun owners, will definitely work.

10. A woman’s body is her own, as is a man’s. A woman, however, does have the ability to get pregnant and give birth. This does not, however, grant anyone, government or otherwise, to take control of a woman’s body or her decisions about bringing this potential life to full fruition. This bodily autonomy does not, in any way, equate or compare with the government asking you to wear a mask or get vaccinated during a pandemic – as a virus or disease could kill other, living, breathing human beings, and a zygote, fetus or baby is not a living, breathing human being until after birth. It is a part of the woman’s body until it has been delivered.

11. Donald Trump is a liar, a bully, a moron, an idiot, a Russian asset and a con artist.
